Olympiana Athletes was born out of my own pursuit to find and identify myself as an athlete. Up until the last several years, I had believed that an athlete was defined by how they looked–rather than their actual participation within the sport.

As I have continued to grow, I’ve been fortunate enough to come across a plethora of badass women who may appear ordinary on the surface, but have accomplished extraordinary things. I’ve also found that individuals who seem indestructible are humans just like the rest of us. Athletics is a common denominator for all: it doesn’t matter what you look like, where you grew up, what your ability is, how old you are, or any of the other things we use to divide ourselves. If you decide that you’re an athlete, then you are one.

The emphasis on women is not to deride from any other person–this is inclusive to transgender, gender non-conforming, non-binary, and genderqueer individuals. It is my intention to share as many stories as I can that exemplify the power of sport and how it brings us all together. As Serena Williams famously said, “We should always be judged by our achievements, not by our gender.”

This website is dedicated to these amazing athletes and those who are inspired by them.
